Owner - ISDC
Our Owner – Cindy, is a seasoned professional performer. Cindy has studied extensively over the years. She holds degrees in Fine arts and Education from the Ohio State University and has had the privilege of studying with Jennifer Lopez dancer & master choreographer Barry Youngblood, as well as jazz pioneer Gus Giordano just to name a few. She was a featured dancer, model and spokesperson on the Rhythm City Show, a nationally syndicated variety show. Cindy is a former member of the Kelley Street Dancers of Dayton and of the cheer and dance team at The Ohio State University. She is currently a member of the Miami Valley Dance Teachers Association. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Pom, Hip Hop, Clog, Zumba and Tumbling. Cindy stated her life long love of Dance, Singing and Acting as a small child where she participated in numerous plays, choirs and dance performances.
Melissa began dancing at the age of 3. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz and acrobat and has frequently performed throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Washington D.C. Melissa has advanced dance training with many nationally acclaimed master teachers. She has choreographed dances for several local organizations. Melissa has been teaching dance since 1998. She and her husband; Scott, have three children; Alyssa, Shanna and Sean. Melissa is an experienced group fitness teacher and just became a certified ZUMBA instructor.
Julianna Franke hails from Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. She majored in Dance at Mercyhurst College, with a concentration in Pedagogy, and a minor in Psychology. She began her Vagonova training with Geiger Classic Ballet Academy, under the direction of Mary C. Geiger, and danced with the associated company, Michigan Classic Ballet Company. Since dancing with MCBC she has gone on to dance with the Mercyhurst Dancers, under the direction of Tauna Hunter, and The Liturgical Dance Ensemble. She has performed such roles as a stepsister in Cinderella and Clara in The Nutcracker, as well as a variety in Giselle, Les Sylphides, Firebird, and Swan Lake. Juliana is an energetic and dedicated dancer and teacher, striving for opportunities to be immersed in the arts. She currently works as a preschool teacher at the Primrose School of Dublin, and began teaching ballet technique with ISDC in the fall of 2013. Ms. Franks loves teaching ballet to children, passing on the love of dancing to the next generation.
Gabby Bailey received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a focus in Dance Education from The Ohio State University in 2016. While at OSU, she performed in works by Dianne McIntyre, Sofie Clemmensen, Mitchell Rose, Dave Covey, and Norah Zuniga-Shaw amongst others. In the summer of 2013, she was a member of Versatile Dance Company, a non-profit organization under the direction of Mitchel Federan. She was also a performer in collaboration with OhioDance, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and Crystal Fuller. In 2016, Gabby completed an internship with Transit Arts for which she taught dance to underprivileged youth of Columbus. Prior to college, Gabby was a competitive dancer for ten years. She was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, acrobatics, Irish step, and musical theater. She attended numerous dance conventions, studied under many teachers and choreographers, and won several state and national titles. Gabby is currently a member of Ohio Dance Machine, the professional dance team of MLL’s Columbus team, Ohio Machine.
Megan McCarthy has been dancing since the age of 5. She has trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pom, and hip hop under many different teachers and choreographers. She has competed in many dance competitions and served as a dance captain for the Marysville Swingers Unlimited Show Choir. She was also a 4 year member of the Varsity Eagle Elite Dance Team at Ashland University, where she trained at Universal Dance Association camps and performed at Cleveland Cavalier games. Megan is proud to return to dance in Marysville as a part of the ISDC family!
Samantha Charles is a graduate of Marysville High School and is now in her Third year at The Ohio State University. She is currently studying Spanish and hopes to become a teacher of English as a second language. Dance has been a part of her life for 15 years now and she wouldn't have it any other way! She has also participated in musicals, show choir, and spent one year as a Columbus State cheerleader. Samantha is a former competitive ISDC student and is very happy to be able to rejoin the ISDC family as an instructor and share her love of dance.
